Ihave come to realize that I just cannot do everything, all the time. Our family dynamics are very busy, and last year I may have tried to cram in a few to many extra activities, so my mantra for this year is, less is more! That means less dog shows, less litters, less dogs …. I (and the kids!) will be focused on quality, not quantity.
That Doesn’t mean we can’t have fun!
Red Deer and District Kennel Club was the first show we attended this year, and only for 1 day. You’ll probably see us at the shows on Saturdays, because that means we can do breed, and Junior Handling.
Flora and Hero both got to accompany us to the show, and while Flora mostly just had fun, Hero was a busy guy and came home with a few more points toward his Grand Championship, as well as placing first with Lydia in Junior Handling.
This year we are going to focus on Quality, not Quantity. Less is more!
We’re figuring out who likes to come, and what role they get to play when they tag along. My two oldest girls and the baby were along for this trip. Sofia loves taking photos but isn’t really into the dog showing.
Hero won Best Opposite Male for 2 points. Flora is still figuring out the show ring, but she was Reserve Winners Female, no points but lots of positive remarks from all the other Beaglers. She moves like a dream!
You Will See us again!
You’ll see the Rosabel Beagle crew at the upcoming NACA show in Edmonton last weekend in May. Hero and Flora will both be competing in the breed competition, as well as the special Scent Hound Specialty!
