Why adopting from Rosabel may look a little differant

There are many wonderful breeders out there, and in many ways our process will look similar. We carefully plan litters, health test our dogs, raise puppies in our home, and work to place them in the right families.

Where Rosabel Beagles may be a little different is in how our kennel fits into our daily life. First and foremost, Rosabel Beagles is a family kennel. Our dogs live as part of our home and our everyday routines. Our children are homeschooled, which means our home is full of learning, activity, and life throughout the day. Between raising a large family, caring for our dogs, and occasionally raising a litter, our days are full and very busy.

Because of this, we have structured our kennel in a way that allows us to continue raising wonderful dogs without sacrificing the priorities that matter most to us.

The best way to reach me is by email.

I do not often answer the phone, simply because the pace of our daily life makes it difficult to take calls during the day. I prefer to respond to inquiries in the quiet of the evening, when I can give thoughtful and complete answers rather than trying to respond quickly while the day is in full swing. I am always happy to answer questions and help families learn about the breed, but email allows me to do that in a way that works well with our family life.

Unfortunately, for a variety of reasons, we do not generally encourage visits to the kennel unless you have already placed a deposit. If you would like to meet our dogs or other well bred beagles, we attend a few shows a year and would be happy to meet you and introduce you to the dogs at those sites.

Our dogs are raised in our home and are part of our family life, and maintaining that environment means keeping our home somewhat private. Once families have reserved a puppy, we do occasionally schedule puppy playdates, but these are carefully planned and take place on specific days so that we can keep life running smoothly for both our family and our dogs. Puppy pick-ups are handled in a similar way. Because of our schedule, we simply are not able to accommodate open visiting hours or frequent drop-ins. Instead, we plan pick-ups carefully so that each family can have a relaxed and enjoyable experience bringing their puppy home.

One of the reasons many families choose Rosabel Beagles is because our puppies are raised as part of a busy family environment. Our dogs grow up around children, daily activity, and the natural rhythms of a home. This helps produce the kind of temperament we value most—dogs that are stable, cheerful, and wonderful companions for families. At the same time, choosing a family-raised kennel also means understanding that we operate differently than other breeding programs. In our home, the priorities are clear:

Children first.
Dogs second.
Customers third.

That does not mean our puppy families are not important to us—far from it. But it does mean that we structure our kennel in a way that allows us to protect our family time and maintain the environment that allows our dogs to thrive.

Families who reserve a puppy will receive regular updates as the litter grows. I do my best to keep everyone informed with updates via facebook, instagram, emails in the form of  photos, milestones, and general progress as the puppies develop.

While I may not be the breeder who is available for long phone calls at any time of day, I am always happy to answer questions and support the families who bring one of our puppies into their homes. By keeping communication structured and predictable, I can give thoughtful attention to both our puppy families and my own family.

Choosing a breeder is about more than just finding a puppy. It is also about finding a program whose values and way of life align with your own. If you are drawn to Rosabel Beagles, I hope it is because you appreciate the kind of environment our dogs are raised in—a home where dogs are part of the family, where children and animals grow up together, and where each litter is raised with care and intention. Thank you for understanding and respecting the way our kennel operates. It allows us to continue raising the kind of Beagles we believe in.

Do our Values Align?
